About the Instructor
Christine Brown, M. Ed., has been a teacher for the past 29 years. She is the 7-12 Art and Family and Consumer Science teacher at Blue Hill Community Schools and an Adjunct Professor at Hastings College.
Christine was awarded the Top Secondary Art Educator in the State of Nebraska 2007 and received the Golden Apple Teacher’s Award from Channel 10/11 in 2007.
She had the honor of her artwork being selected into a juried show at the Love Jazz and Art Center in Omaha. Christine won third place honors at the Nebraska State Art Educators show in 2006.
Christine's artwork won the "Purchaser's Award" at the 2008 ANAC Conference. The Purchaser's Award is a once a year honor in which the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) selects one piece of artwork from the ANAC show to be part of their permanent collection.
Christine was a presenter at the 2011 NAEA National Convention in New York City. She and her husband, Jim, have two sons, Connor and Collin. Connor is a senior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Collin is a freshman at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is also plays football for the Lopers.
